Obituary for Stanley Charles "Charlie" Harvey

Stanley Charles Harvey known to his friends and family as “Charlie”, 70 years of age and a resident of Hattiesburg MS., passed away on January 13, 2018 at Asbury Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. Charlie was born on July 9, 1947 to Terrell M. and Eva L. Harvey in Hattiesburg, MS. Charlie supported his family over the years through employment with Hercules and Daily Equipment Corporation.
Those that knew him best remember his passion for his family and his ability to be humorous no matter the situation while putting smiles on the faces of those around him and making the situation seem better no matter the circumstance. From his former classmates and later at Ochsner’s from his caregivers, he was known as “Nestles,” “because Nestles makes the very best Charlie.” His infectious personality and his ability to make those around him feel special and blessed for knowing someone so full of life and love was truly a gift. He later adopted the name of “Papa Charlie” as his grandchildren began to take their role and become a focus in his life.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Terrell and Eva Harvey and his brother Terrell “Sonny” Harvey. He is survived by his wife Ann Ruple Harvey that together, just celebrated their 50th Anniversary on January 8, 2018. He has two children, Trish Ann Harrod, (Donnie) and Charlie Randall Harvey, (Harmony) both of Hattiesburg, MS. Two wonderful grandchildren, Donald “Chase” Harrod and “Hayden” Elizabeth Harrod; along with his beloved Brother Phil Harvey, (Janis) and Sister Debbie Littlepage, (Ron) both of Hattiesburg, MS.
Special thanks are given to the wonderful staff of Ochsner’s, Asbury Hospice House, Forrest General Home Health, Nurse (Karen), and Dr. Laurie Douglas and staff.
