Dan Lindsay passed away at the age of 70 Friday May, 27th, 2016 at Forrest General Hospital. Dan was born February 23, 1946 in Meriden, Connecticut. Dan, a Vietnam Veteran, was a proud American and a Bronze Star recipient. For many years he was active in the preservation of the Hattiesburg Zoo, a volunteer with the Special Olympics, and a member of the Foster Care review board. Dan was a hard working self-starter who owned the local business Flowers and Frames for many years. As a self-taught software developer he created an important program utilized by the U. S. Dan was a UCONN and Kentucky basketball enthusiast and enjoyed playing golf with his buddies. Dan was preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Gertrude Lindsay. Affectionately known as “Big D”, Dan is survived by his wife Lynn Lindsay, his children Bruce Lindsay, Vicki Lindsay (James), Pam Hogan (Glen), Stacy Brewer (Billy), Heather Glenn (Jonathan); two brothers: James Lindsay (Karen) and Thomas Lindsay (Sue), eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016, 5-7 at Forrest Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Thomas Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 10:00am.
