Jackie Earlene (Primos) Nunn, 68, passed away peacefully at her home in Purvis, MS on June 4, 2015 after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born September 2, 1946 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Will and Roberta Primos in Hattiesburg, MS. She grew up in the Newman’s Quarter community and was known to many as “Pee-Wee”. Jackie attended Grace Love Elementary, Rowan High School (Class of 1966), and graduated with an Associate’s degree from Prentiss Institute in 1968.
She accepted Christ at an early age and attended church with her parents and siblings at Greater Mount Bethel Church in Hattiesburg, MS. On November 8, 1969 she married Jerry Nunn and after their union she converted to Catholicism. For over 40 years she has been a dedicated parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic church.
Jackie’s worked for several years at Northern Electric and Murray Envelope in her early adult life but never wavered on her duties as a wife and mother. She was dedicated to taking care of her family and encouraging her children and her host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews to reach their fullest potential and to always give 100%.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother Mr. and Mrs. Will and Roberta Primos; a son Jerry Nunn Jr, and three brothers: Douglas “Weekie” Primos (Mae Lee), Louis Primos, and her twin brother Jack Earl Primos.
Jackie leaves her cherished memories to her husband Jerry Nunn and three children: Melissa McCray (Albert) of Brandon, MS, Geraldine Husband of Purvis, MS, and Linda Nunn-Pridgen (Randolph) of San Antonio, TX; Her siblings: Sylvester Primos (Mary) of Hattiesburg, MS, Geneva Jones (Charles),of Hattiesburg, MS, and Jeanette Thigpen (Joe) of Chicago, IL; Her beloved grandchildren: Andrew, Zaccheus, Matthew, Joshua, Christian, and Ida; Also, a host of nieces, nephew, and dear friends.
Jackie will be missed dearly by all that she touched, but her gentle kindness will be remembered forever.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 12, 2015, at Forrest Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Interment wil be at Highland Cemetery.
