Pauline “Paulie” Felts

Pauline Felts, was born on October 12,1959 in Hattiesburg,MS to the union of the late Willie “Bill” Choyce and Georgia Bethley.

She was raised in Hattiesburg, MS and later moved to San Jose, CA where she attended W.C. Overfelt High School and graduated in 1978. She then returned back to Hattiesburg and attended Jones County Junior College where she received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. Pauline worked for P.A.C.E. Head Start and Mount Olive Daycare. During her time there, she was known for her humbleness, kindness, and generosity. She was very passionate about God, family, cooking, sewing, and teaching. She was devoted to her family and friends, and she took pride in hosting events and entertaining others.

She will always be remembered for her love, strength, generosity, and humor. Her presence left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Pauline didn’t meet any strangers and always kept a smile on her face.

Though she departed this life on June 29,2026, Pauline’s legacy of love and strength will continue to empower generations She was preceded in death by her parents,Willie “Bill” Choyce and Georgia Bethley. Her sister, Dorothy Tademy and her brother Larry Choyce. Her aunts, Katherine Jones, Ceilia Felts, Ida Jane Craft, Gussie Holmes and her Uncle George Hawthorn Jr.. Her Nephew, Demond Hawthorne and a sister in law, Angela Hayes.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her devoted daughter, Rosalyn Woods of Hattiesburg, MS; her son, Jeffrey Woods of Pollock, LA; Two granddaughters, D’Nyah Woods of Mobile, AL and Scarlett Harvey of Petal, MS; Two brothers,Thomas Choyce of Petal,MS and Calvin Choyce of Chino,CA; Three sisters, Joanne Craig of Gulfport, MS and Juanita Young and Pamela Eaton both of Petal,MS. Two uncles, Trail (Brenda) Hawthorne of Petal, MS and Thomas Felts of Hattiesburg, MS; Two aunts, Barbara Irby of Petal, MS and Van Ellen Hawthorne of Minooka, IL; Her brother in law, Ralph Tademy of Inglewood, CA; Her very best friend Myra Burns of Petal, MS; and a host of nieces,nephews,cousins and friends.
