George Allen Pollitz IV Obituary
George Allen Pollitz IV, 73, of Purvis, passed away on June 3, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. Born on September 16, 1952, in Biloxi, MS. George spent his childhood in Picayune, it was there where he met the love of his life, Debbie Mitchell.
George attended The University of Southern Mississippi, where he earned three degrees, including his Specialist Degree. He retired from Jones Junior College and then worked at South Mississippi Planning and Development District for 11 years.
George will be remembered as a storyteller, a jokester, a mentor, and friend. A true free spirit, enjoyed woodworking, time outdoors, and creating lasting memories with his family and friends. He was an active member of the BPOE Lodge of Hattiesburg where he held office and received many accolades. George proudly served as King Elk XXXVI.
George is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and George Allen Pollitz, III. He leaves behind his loving wife, Debbie Mithell Pollitz; one son, Allen Pollitz; two grandchildren, Banks Pollitz and Kara Pollitz; brother, Don Pollitz (Maureen); sister, Beverly Pollitz Thigpen; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
