Lewis Webster Alexander, Jr., 78, of Hattiesburg, passed away on March 13, 2025, at his home, surrounded by family. He was born on February 18, 1947, to Lewis and Irene Alexander in Columbia, MS, and was also native to Morgantown, MS.

After high school, Lewis joined The United States Marine Corps in 1966, where he served his country faithfully. He was a Purple Heart Recipient, received National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Presidential Unit Citation and Rifle Marksman Badge while he was enlisted until honorably discharged in1969.

Later in life, Lewis shared a Ministry with his wife, Ronna, called Turning of The Tide, for 15 years while they lived in Kentucky. He loved camping, fishing, bowling at Hub Lanes, participating in The Elks Lodge but most important, spending time with his family.

Lewis is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Elzey Thornhill (Gloria Lafay) and Ira Melvin Thornhill; one sister, Carolyn Crump. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ronna Alexander; three children: Kelly Eaves (Jason), Lewronna “Lyn” Webster (Josh), and Melissa Martin; three grandchildren: Caleb Alexander Michael (Kayla), Joshua Lee Webster, Jr. and Jadon Lewis Eaves; two great grandchildren, Charlotte “Charlie” Raine Michael and Eleanor “Ellie” Skye Michael; one sister, Pauline “Polly” Alexander Vineyard (Dick).

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 18, 2025, 6:00pm for family, 7- 9:00pm for friends at Forrest Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, 1:30pm at Biloxi National Cemetery.
