Brad Jerome Nix, Jr., beloved son of Brad Nix and Addie Nix-Barnett was born in Hattiesburg, MS on March 7, 1937 and departed this world on Saturday February 1, 2025. Brad was known to many as Dap, Daddy, Paw-Paw, Uncle Foe, Show-Baby and Will. Brad lived a life full of love, dedication and unwavering kindness. He was the last of five children. Brad accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Brad joined the US Air Force in 1954 and served honorably as a para-rescue airman. Upon leaving the military, he attended Prentiss Institute and Mississippi Valley State University. Brad was employed with Hercules Chemical for 30 plus years.

Brad was married for 40 years to his loving wife, Katherine Burns, Brad found his anchor in family life. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and shared experiences. His kindhearted nature and willingness to help others created a warm and welcoming environment for all who crossed his path. In his leisure, Brad cherished the outdoors, basking in the serenity of the nature world, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Brad Jerome Nix Jr., leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and authenticity. His memory will be forever be cherished by his friends, and all those lives he touched. He was preceded by his parents, wife, daughter and siblings. Leaving to cherish his memory are his children: Brad, Kevin, Doris, Sonji, Roderick and Roderize; Eight grandchildren. One Great Grandchild . And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, let us remember him for the warmth he brought into our lives and the lessons of humility, hard work, and love that he leaves behind.
