Mrs. Willie (Bill) Reed was born on October 3, 1942, to the late Louise Holland and Willie Lee Barnes in Vossburg, Mississippi. She was the first of three children. Willie (Bill) accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Paulding, Mississippi.

On July 1, 1981 Willie (Bill) married Quincy W Reed and later joined New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the New Zion Senior Choir and served as the Choir Treasurer.

Willie(Bill) Reed received her early years of education from DePree School. She received her AA Degree from Jones County Community College in 1992 and continue her higher education at the Jackson State University.

She worked at HeadStart for over 40 years where she educated and inspired numerous children and staff to reach their greatest potential in life until her retirement.

Willie (Bill) was the proud Mother of five children who is known as her Fab5, eight grand children and ten great grandchildren.

Willie (Bill) Reed entered into eternity on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her Mother Louise Holland, her Bonus Dad Artice Holland and her Father Willie Lee Barnes, her brother Artice Ray Holland Jr, Grandson Terry (Scooter) McLaurin Jr, her Aunts and Uncles whom she was raised as their Baby Sister: Mary Johnson, Geneva McCullum, Robert Trotter, Roberta Stewart, Selvin Trotter Sr., and Mammie Evans.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted husband Quincy Reed, Hattiesburg, MS; her two sons, Charles McLaurin Jr., San Antiono, Fl and Terry(Georgette) McLaurin Sr., Lawrenceville, Ga; three daughters, Brenda Newsome, Hattiesburg, MS, Carolyn Smith, Petal, MS and Charlene Rodgers, Cypress, CA. Seven grandchildren: TaKeshia McLaurin, Perris, CA; Sherman McLaurin, LaVerne, CA; Riccardo(Holly) Stewart, Phoenix, Az; Randy(Kierra) Smith, Jr., Petal, MS; Carlton (Britney) McLaurin, Sugar Hill, GA; Kendall (Kjaye) Rodgers Jr., McKinney, TX; and RaShun (Satoria) Smith, Petal, MS. Ten great-grandchildren: Brandyn McLaurin, Phoenix, AZ; Jonte McLaurin, Perris, CA; Randy Smith III, Petal, MS; Madisyn Smith, Slidell, LA; Noah Stewart, Phoenix, AZ; Aniyah McLaurin, Jackson, MS; Eli Stewart, phoenix, AZ; Cailyn Smith, Laurel, MS; Ivee Smith, Petal, MS and Rylan Smith, Petal, MS. One Sister, Pamela Holland, Okeechobee, FL, Sister-in-Laws: Beverly Holland, Tampa, FL; Bernice Bee, Richton, MS; Karen(James) Gordon, Petal, MS; Mary Walker, Chicago, IL; Lillie Bolton, Beaumont, MS; Annie Brown, Richton, MS; Vonzella Howard, Indianapolis, IL; and one brother in-law, Ellis (Diane) Reed Sr., Richton, MS. She will be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
