John Henry "Buck" Allen , Jr. , the forth child of fourteen children, of the late John Allen, Sr., and Mennie Lee Allen was born on September 9, 1946, in Hattiesburg, MS. Shortly after his birth he was baptized at East Pine A.M.E. Church and became a life long member. Buck was a special needs child was taught by our mother all of his activities of daily living.

Later in his adult life, he became a resident of Ellisville State School in Ellisville, MS. There he participated in activities such as his work assignments and field trips. Buck was known for always smiling and being very polite. He enjoyed sitting on the breeze way or porch when weather permitted, watching television, and listening to music.

Buck is preceded in death by his parents, John Alllen, Sr. and Mennie Allen; one sister, Sarah Allen. He leaves to cherish his memories, seven sisters: Mertha Mitchen (Chicago, IL), Mildred Greene (Lumberton, MS), Delphine King and husband, Cleveland, (Kansas City, MI), Varrittica Wyatt (Hattiesburg, MS), Theolyn Allen and Gerronica Fitzpatrick (Petal, MS), and Quintina Allen (Dallas, TX); five brothers, Bradford Allen and Ronald Allen (Petal, MS), Douglas Allen (Hinesville, GA), Lemuel Allen (Kilmichael, MS), and Thomas Allen (Beaumont, MS); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
