Lola Keyes, a dedicated member of the Jehovah’s Witness community, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the age of 89.

Lola Lee Person was born on October 15, 1934, to the late Jessie and Essie Person in Meridian, MS. Sister Keyes relocated to Hattiesburg, MS, at a young age, where she spent majority of her life. On December 3, 1965, she married her late husband, John Henry Keyes, and together they shared 53 years of a love-filled life, faithfully navigating their journey within the Jehovah Witness congregation.

Sister Keyes, a woman of unwavering faith, possessed a generous heart and strong convictions. Her interests included watching the home makeover channel and engaging in DIY projects around her home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Keyes; parents, Jessie and Essie B. Person; son, Sylvester Evans; and siblings, Glady’s Bullock, Grady Person, Tommy Jean Person, Roy Person, David King Person, and Larry Person.

To cherish her memories, she leaves her son, Brandon Keyes; brother, Melvin Person (Jessie); granddaughter, Celeste (Andros) Ezell; and three great granddaughters, Logen Flemings, Kyleigh Ezell, and

Lauren Ezell.

She will always be remembered by a host of cousins, an uncle, nieces, and nephews, and friends.
