Obituary for Margaret Grace Cobbins

Margaret Grace Cobbins, a hairy baby girl, was born on
a windy Monday on October 27, 1947, to Edmond “Slick”
and Lora Lee Cobbins. She grew up in Hattiesburg and
attended public schools, graduating from L. J. Rowan High
School in 1967. She was employed by Hattiesburg
Convalescent Center for fifteen (15) years until her health
failed.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; 4
brothers: Willie Edward, Richard Wayne, Sylvester Donnell,
and Tony Ray Cobbins, all of Hattiesburg; her maternal
grandparents: John Sr. and Elizabeth Rucker; her paternal
grandparents: Travis and Margaret Cobbins; and nephew,
Ricardo Hollingsworth, of Hattiesburg.
Margaret transitioned from this life on Monday,
March 27, at 2:10pm, at Forrest General Hospital. She
leaves to cherish precious memories her daughter and only
child, Demetrius Cobbins Atterberry, and her husband,
Jonathan (“John”), of Petal, MS; 3 grandchildren: Kendariana
and Kenneth Rankin, both of Hattiesburg; and Jonathan
Atterberry II, of Petal, MS; one great-grandson, Kaison
Dimitri Armstrong, of Hattiesburg; Two (2) sisters:
Legertha Abner and Linda Cobbins, both of Hattiesburg;
Two (2) brothers: James Lee and Larry Cobbins, both of
Hattiesburg; One (1) uncle, Willie Rucker, of Jacksonville,
NC; Two (2) aunts: Dorothy (John) Duncan and Gladys
Harris, of Hattiesburg; a host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
