Obituary for James "Jim" Lacy
James "Jim" Lacy, 87, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023, in Hattiesburg. He was born on June 8, 1935 in Gulfport, Mississippi, to Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Lacy.
Mr. Lacy was a graduate of Gulfport High School and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He was employed with Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. He was an active member of Living Word Church in Hattiesburg. He was in the Mississippi Bowling Association Hall of Fame, and Secretary of the Mississippi Bowling Association and the Hattiesburg Bowling Association. In his later years, he enjoyed fishing, traveling, and his beloved pets.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Ross Lacy; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel and Theresa Lacy; and two brothers, Bill Lacy and Jack Lacy.
He is survived by his brother, Lamont Lacy; two nieces and a few cousins. Special thanks to friend and caregiver Dr. Lindy Lee.
