Obituary for Teddy Wesley Keyes

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your
ways acknowledge him and He shall direct you’re your paths.
Teddy Wesley followed God because he loved God in all his ways and he was obedient to
Him until November 6th at 9:25 a.m., God called him home to live with him forever, to
receive his crown.
Teddy Wesley was born in Taylorsville, Mississippi on August 7, 1944 to a loving and
devoted mother, Tencye Lee Arrington. He was the proud 2nd oldest grandson of Oscar
and Savannah Arrington. His grandparents, mother, and many family members proceeded
him in death.
Teddy Wesley gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was baptized as a member of Leaf
River Missionary Baptist Church in Taylorsville, Mississippi. He was very active in Sunday
School. He participated in and organized many youth activities.
He graduated from Smith County Training School in Taylorsville, Mississippi. He went on
to pursue his education where he received a degree in Education from Alcorn State
University. He furthered his education by receiving a Master’s Degree from Mississippi
State University in Public Administration. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
Teddy Wesley served as Director of The Council on Aging for the state of Mississippi for
twelve years. He was a community leader for many years. His passion was helping the
homeless; telling them about God and teaching them the book of Proverbs.
He was a member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Bolton, Mississippi where
he served as Sunday School Superintendent.
He leaves to cherish his memories and carry on his legacy, one son, Teddy W. Bivins; one
daughter, Amber R. Bivins; two sisters, Beverly (Sam) Thornton, Willie Ann Magee; one
loving, caring, and devoted brother, Johnny Lee Arrington; one loving, devoted brother-in-
law and longtime friend, Teddy Williams; three aunts, Mrs. Elva Clark, Byram, Mississippi,
Mrs. Joanne Hodges, Hempstead, New York, Mrs. Alma Lynette Beasley, Jackson,
Mississippi; a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
