Earnest Hatten

Deacon Earnest Hatten was born on the 17th day of May in 1934 to the union of Andrew and Carrie Bell Hatten in Summerland, MS. He accepted Christ at an early are at New Zion Baptist Church, was ordained as a Deacon at New Testament Baptist Church, and later attended Mary Magdalene Baptist Church until his health declined.

After 31 years of dedicated service at Hercules, Inc. he turned in his hat and retired.
Earnest never met a stranger, and if he did they soon became friends. It didn’t matter your status in life, Earnest had words encouragement for everyone.

Earnest was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Carrie Bell Hatten, Siblings Y.W. “Jack” Hatten, Bernice Hatten, Oralean Boykins.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife of sixty-three years Curley Craft Hatten, daughters Earnestine Toy(Davie), Tammy Hatten, Delois Martin (Larry), Doris “Bunchie” Jones, Patricia “Googie” Jones; sons, Gabriel Hatten (Linda), Gregory Hatten (Shun), Blake Hatten, Dominique and Dominick Hatten; sister Dora Harris, 27 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephew, and friends.
