Gerald Ray Gargis, 83, of Purvis, passed away on September 17, 2022, at Merit Health Wesley Hospital. He was born on December 11, 1938, to Parker & Ludie Gargis in Sheffield (in Gargis Hollow, AL).
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, son: Joshua Ray Gargis; brother: Curtis Gargis (Dolly) & sister: Nancy Gargis Logan (Steve); nephew: Michael Gargis. He is survived by his wife Tammy Gargis; children: Christopher Parker Gargis, Jonathan Michael Gargis; brother: Charles Gargis (Joann); nieces: Marsha Gargis, Angie Gargis (Mike), Jamie Parton (Gary); Molly Aycock(Joey), Lori Henson(Will); nephews: Myron Gargis (Molly), Joel Gargis (Lorie); daughter in law: Morgan Gargis; grandchildren: Bryleigh Gargis, Parker Ray Gargis and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Forrest Funeral Home at 11:00-1:00pm with the service to follow at 1:00pm.
