Obituary for Gail A Smith
Gail Nelson Smith 84, of Dixie Community, passed away on April 22, 2022, at Forrest General Hospital. She was born on May 5, 1937 in Weymouth, Massachusetts, to George and Margaret Nelson. After retiring from nursing, she enjoyed traveling, painting, going to the casino to people watch and loved her dog Annie. She endured many illnesses throughout her life, but she was always grateful for her life and family.
Gail was preceded in death by her husband, George Smith; two daughters, Georgia Sewell & Lorrie Smith. She is survived by three daughters: Shirley Palmisano (David), Robin Schulze (Bruce) and Debbie Pledger (Tommy); two brothers, George Bud Nelson (Flo) and Clyde Marshall (Pam); six grandchildren Jeremy Kelley, Austin Sellers, Jennifer Pledger, James Parnell, Cody Pledger and Ethan Schulze and numerous great grandkids.
Burial will be at a later date at the Dixie Cemetery.
