Life Story for Wilhelmina Breland

Wilhelmina “Peaches” Breland, 81, of Janice, MS departed this earthly life and stepped through the portals of Heaven on June 2, 2021 at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS
Mrs. Peaches was born in the Pleasant Hill community in Perry County, MS to W.L and Ernestine McLeod on July 23, 1939. She attended St. John School. Peaches accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very early age and attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was joined in holy matrimony with Andrew Jackson Breland, Jr. (A.J.) on March 15, 1958. After her union with A.J., she made Independent Missionary Baptist Church in Janice her membership, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, and usher for several decades. She was a faithful and devoted wife until A.J’s death in 2015. Mrs. Peaches showed unwavering and unshakable faith through her actions, and this made her an extraordinary example of what it means to be a Christian.
Mrs. Peaches is preceded in death by her husband, son (Marzette Breland), mother (Ernestine McLeod), father (W.L. McLeod), and sister (Ariel June Dykes).
Mrs. Peaches is survived by 3 of her children: Danny (Karla) Breland of Janice, MS; Colby Breland of St. Louis, MO, and Judy Lynn McDonald of Memphis, TN, 9 grandchildren: Nicole Wells, Nathaniel Breland, Jason Breland, Kathryn McDonald, Rachel Breland, Corey Breland, Jonathan Breland, Melissa McDonald and Eugene McDonald, 11 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters: Katie (Hubert) Jackson, Dottie (George) Lyttle, Neicee Rose, and Rosemary Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews.
