On May 25, 2021 the sweet soul of Mrs. Doris Marie Lee Hill, transitioned to everlasting life with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Doris was born October 15, 1937, in Wiggins, Ms to the late Irene Allen Hoskins and Jesse Lee. She was the youngest of ten children. As a girl, her favorite game was hopscotch.
Doris received her formal education from the Depriest School in the Palmer’s Crossing Community. She was a member of the Priest Creek Missionary Baptist Church as a girl where she was baptized. She later joined the Morning Star Baptist Church after her union to the late Robert Earl Hill Sr. She was an active member and served on the Usher Board.
Doris was a hard worker and beloved by all she worked alongside. She started her career at Two Acre truck stop after returning from California and she also worked many years at Big Yank. She ended her years of service at Marshall Durbin after over 20 years before she retired.
In retirement, Doris became a full-time grandmother while also enjoying the things she loved most: sewing, quilting, fishing, cooking, watching her favorite shows, and working puzzle books while enjoying her morning coffee. Though she had many hobbies, quilting was her favorite. Her quilts will be passed down from generations to come. Granny stitched with love. When life gives you scraps, make a beautiful quilt.
