People say Richard was a gentle giant. Funny thing when Earnestine started talking to Richard and he ask her out, he went and ask her Mother if it was okay to take her out, and that made lots of points with Mrs. Farmer, next thing we knew he was out mowing their yards and cutting vines from the fence. He confessed his love for Earnestine and they didn’t want to waste any more time apart and got Married on 8/29/1999, right after church on Sunday. Pastor Lavon was to marry them and had a heart attack that day in the pulpit, so brother Chuck Parish had to step in and that was the fastest wedding ever because he needed to get to the hospital to see about Pastor Lavon.
He loved his dogs, and his family.
He worked for Lamar County in the North Barn, he loved those guys and tried to keep them straight any time someone had to be off for emergency and didn’t have any time available he would give them some of his time to help them out.
Most of the time until his health got the best of him he only had one gear fast, almost got him in trouble in the end with parking his truck. LOL
He never complained about the time Earnestine spent with her Mother taking care of her
