Dorothy Louise Hunter Miller passed away at the age of 74
on Saturday, March 27, 2021 in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born on
April 28, 1946 to the late Thomas Hunter and Dora Hunter.
Dorothy married Ray Eugene Miller, Sr. on October 11, 1964, and
to this union five children were born. One daughter, Phyllis
Yolanda Miller, and a granddaughter, Veronica Miller, preceded
her in death.
Dorothy attended Earl Travillion Attendance Center. She
worked as a concierge until her health began to fail. She loved
helping and taking care of people. She helped raised many of her
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and anyone that was in
need.
Dorothy is survived by her four children; Ray Eugene
Miller, Jr., of Columbia, South Carolina, Iassac N. (T’etta) Miller of
Hattiesburg, MS, Tina R. Miller of Hattiesburg, MS, and Douglas
W. (Jaymi) Miller of Jackson, Michigan; three sisters; Janet Hunter
of Petal, MS, Emma Washington of Jacksonville, Florida, and Alice
Hunter of Petal, MS; three brothers; Edward (Frances) Hunter of
Petal, MS, Albert (Nina) Hunter of Cordova, TN, and Richard
Hunter of Petal, MS; three aunts; Sarah Darty of Petal, MS; Lillie
Joe of Plant City, Florida, and Earline Spencer of Tampa, Florida;
one uncle, James Hunter of Plant City, Florida, 18 grandchildren,
17 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.
Dorothy leaves behind an incredible mark on all who knew her.
