Obituary for Carolyn Breland Robinson

Carolyn Marie Breland Robinson was born on August 27, 1946 in Brooklyn, Ms to Iszo Harry Breland, Sr. and Murley Williams Breland. She was the second of five children and grew up in a Christian and loving home.
Carolyn attended school in the Forrest County School system and graduated from Earl Travillion Attendance Center in 1964 as Salutatorian of her class. She earned a BS Degree in English Literature from Mississippi Valley State University and a Master’s Degree from William Carey University. Carolyn was a dedicated educator and taught school for over 40 years with 35 of those years being at Harrison Central High School in Gulfport Mississippi. She was devoted to her students’ success and set high expectations for them, always with the hope that they would reach their full potential.
After retirement, she volunteered with the American Cancer Society and taught some classes at Gulf Coast Community College for a short period of time.
Having been raised in a Christian home and community, Carolyn was taught Christian values by her parents. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized. She loved her church and was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church until a few years ago when her illness prevented her involvement.
Carolyn loved her family. She was so proud of them and always enjoyed the family gatherings where she liked to reminisce about old times. She was a doting mother and grandmother to her only son and her two grandchildren Ashley and Jalen.
Carolyn leaves to mourn her passing, a loving and devoted son, Kenneth Robinson and wife, Valencia and two loving grand-children, Ashley and Jalen Robinson, all of Marietta, Ga; Four caring and devoted siblings; Harry (Coach) Breland (Rachel) of Hattiesburg, Ms, Evelyn Neely, Kennesaw, GA, Lola Reece, Smyrna, Ga and Woodrow Breland (Tracy) of Popularville, Ms; Six nieces and nephews, 10 great nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.
