John Massey Creagh returned to his heavenly home on December 29, 2020 after a valiant long battle with chronic kidney disease. His devotion to his wife, family, church family, and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
John was born to the late Edward Fedora and Creola Jordan Creagh, in Hattiesburg, MS on March 4, 1957. He was immersed in a sanctified and holy family that would be his lifelong support from an early age. John was a product of the Hattiesburg Public School System. He enlisted in the United States Army after graduating high school. After his tour of duty, he attended William Carey University and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.
John was a masterful sales consultant most of his life. Many people are driving around Hattiesburg in cars he sold during his tenure as a sales consultant for over 25 years at Toyota of Hattiesburg, J. Martin Autoplex, and Petro Automotive Group. He retired as a mortgage loan originator at Wells Fargo.
John married his best friend, Clarissa Watson, on December 10, 2011. John stated that the best days of his life was when he married his wife, Clarissa, and was installed as Pastor of the McCann Memorial Temple Church of God in Christ in February 2019. Pastor Creagh loved his congregation and loved his church with all his heart. He often stated that he wanted MMT to be that “beacon of light” in our neighborhood and it was accomplished under his leadership.
John is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Clarissa Creagh; his sons, Dorian Levi Creagh and Zachary Jordan Creagh; his grandchildren Easton Creagh and Ezemya Creagh; his brothers, Joseph (Johnnie) Jordan, Jerry (Pamela) Nunn and Michael (Flecia) Creagh; his mother-in-love, Madie Ree Watson; two brothers-in-law, Larry Kelly and Jessie Watson; seven sisters-in-law, Johnnie Mae Jordan, Daisy (Aaron) Magee, Loretta Moore, Victoria Hudson, Bonnie (Willie) Brown, Veronica (Elmer) Beasley, and Lisa (Wade, Sr.) Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, McCann Memorial Temple Church Family, Mississippi Southern First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ District 16, and other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and two brothers, Charles Jordan and Edward Fedora Creagh, Jr.

John and I were classmates from 2nd grade through high school. He talked me into joining the band at Lillie Burney Junior High. He was better on the sax because he practiced all od the time. He did the same in his pursuit of Jesus Christ - he practiced all of the time.
John loved the Lord. The evidence of that love is in the hearts of those souls he touched. Now he can rest for awhile... until God's Army is called up for the Glorious return.
God's word will never pass away. Your friends.
