Obituary for Carolyn Fairley

Carolyn Anne Fairley, 68, of Hattiesburg, passed away on June 19, 2020, at Forrest General Hospital. She was born on March 21, 1952, to Mr. LZ and Mrs. Josephine Morris in Hattiesburg, MS. Carolyn had a high school diploma and a degree in Cosmetology.

Carolyn, gave her life to Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Bishop Elson James McDowell. She served as a faithful member under his pastorage at Mobile Street/Nicholson Temple Church of God In Christ, which later became Whole Armor Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Pastor Willie E. Clark, Sr. She loved the church and the work of the Lord. Carolyn served in many capacities in the church; choir director, church secretary, Sunshine Band President, and a licensed Missionary, working faithfully in her calling.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Fairley; six siblings: Eddie Morris, Elder LJ Morris, Leotis Morris, Sr., Missionary Estella Godbolt, JayW Morris, and Missionary Lula Russell; one granddaughter, Jermyah Todd. She leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Hollie Ridgway and Candice Todd; six grandchildren: Charles Aaron Ridgway, Jazlyn Symone’ Ridgway, Iyana Lashaye’ Fairley, Briana Zhane’ Fairley, Joviana Michelle Todd, and Joliana “Nikki” Todd; one great granddaughter, Jailyn Davis; four siblings: Leonard Morris, Elder Elmer Morris, Missionary Johnnie Jordan and Missionary Clara Dodson, three aunts and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and lots of friends.
