Obituary for Amanda Erin Smith

Amanda Erin Smith, 33, of Monticello, Mississippi passed away on May 28, 2020.

A small, graveside memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, June 1st at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church cemetery in Monticello with Bro. Dee Debold officiating.

Erin was born in Jackson, Mississippi on July 31, 1986. She graduated from Lawrence County High School in 2004 and from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and Interior Design.

Erin loved the Lord and received Christ at the age of 8 years old and was baptized on April 16th, 1995.

Erin loved her family and her friends. She married her late husband, Mitch Giles on Valentine’s Day in 2015 and they had one son, Grayson.

Erin loved life. She loved music and loved to travel. From the time Erin was a small child, she loved animals and had a kind, caring heart. She was an energetic, fun- loving, free-spirit with a gypsy soul. She adored bright colors, tie dye, bohemian color schemes, crafting, fashion, butterflies, anything vintage, and expressing her creativity through painting and interior design.

Erin is preceded in death by her husband Mitch Giles, her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Shelton Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Maxie Bruce.

Erin is survived by her son Grayson Giles, her Father Mike Smith (Tammy), her Mother Melody Musgrove (Ronnie), her grandmother Brenda Russell, her brothers and sisters; Michael Smith (Maggie), Melanie Nunnally (Matt), Trent Smith, Shelly Covington (Brad), Rebecca Sanders (Mickey), Clint Russell, Jordan Musgrove (Joely), and Carmen Rae Huang (Ian) along with a multitude of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her Mother-In-Law Aiden Giles, Father-In-Law Doug Giles, and her Sisters-In-Law Alex Giles and Hayley Giles.
