Obituary for Lula M Russell

Lula M. Russell was born on May 28, 1945, to Mr. and Mrs. LZ Morris in D’Lo, MS. She passed away on April 24, 2020, at Asbury Hospice House. Lula had a high school education and 2 ½ years of college. She married Earnest Russel, Jr., in November 1983. They lived happily for 6 years until his death.
Lula was saved at an early age under the pastorage of the late Bishop Elson McDowell at Mobile Street COGIC which later became Whole Armor COGIC under the pastorage of Supt. Willie E. Clark, Jr., where she served faithfully for 26 years. She loved the church and the work of the Lord. Lula served in several capacities in the church ministry. She was licensed as an Evangelist Missionary and worked well in her calling.
Lula is preceded in death by her husband and parents; four brothers: Elder LJ Morris, Leotis Morris, Sr., Eddie Morris and Jayw Morris; one sister, Evangelist Missionary Estella Godbolt. Her life and memories will be cherished by her son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Kewanna Russell; two brothers, Leonard J. Morris and Elder Elmer Morris; three sisters: Evangelist Missionary Johnnie M. Jordan, Evangelist Missionary Clara Dodson and Evangelist Missionary Carolyn A. Fairley; four sisters-in-law; three aunts and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and lots of friends.
God blessed her life and she will be loved and cherished by many.
