Sharon Lee Gambill Brooks, 61, of Hebron, MS, died Sunday,
November 24, 2019, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS.
She was born on June 1, 1958, in Laurel, MS.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019,
at 10:30 am at Hebron Baptist Church in Hebron, MS. She will be
interred at Hebron Cemetery following the Memorial Service.
She loved spending time with her family. Whether it was just her
husband or her kids/grandkids or whether it was the reunion in
Georgia with her Daddy’s family, she was happiest being right in the
middle. When she wasn’t surrounded by her family, she enjoyed
spending time in the mountains with friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Billie V. Gambill; her mother,
Linda Scarbrough Gambill; her maternal grandparents, Arnie and
Ruth Scarbrough; her paternal grandfather, Billy Bernard Gambill; and
her step grandfather, Melvin McClain.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Rickey J. Brooks,
Sr.; her children, Rickey “Jay” Brooks, Jr. (Kelly) of Brandon, MS,
Seliena Johnson (Heath) of Marana, AZ, and Matthew Brooks of
Hebron, MS; her grandchildren, Kyle Brooks of Brandon, MS,
Nathaniel Johnson of Marana, AZ, Isaiah Johnson of Marana, AZ,
Noah Johnson of Marana, AZ, Brice Brooks of Hebron, MS,
Zechariah “Zippy” Johnson of Marana, AZ, Samantha Brooks of
Hebron, MS, Lilibeth Johnson of Marana, AZ, Dawson Brooks of
Hebron, MS, Malachi Johnson of Marana, AZ, Benjamin Johnson of
Marana, AZ, Josiah Johnson of Marana, AZ, Susannah Johnson of
Marana, AZ, Ella Grace Johnson of Marana, AZ, and Ezekiel “Easy”
Johnson of Marana, AZ; her siblings, Janice Reddoch (Bill) of Hebron,
MS, David Gambill of Hebron, MS, and Robin Williams (Joey) of Mt.
Juliet, TN; her paternal grandmother, Glenna McClain of Jacksonville,
FL; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to The
Shriners' Hospital or St. Jude 's in loving memory of Sharon.
