Obituary for Nosakhare Ekunwe

Nosakhare Oghomwan Stephen Ekunwe, 46, of Hattiesburg, passed away on July 15, 2019. He was born on October 5, 1972, in Benin City, Nigeria, to Stephen Ekunwe and Martha Okaeben. Nosakhare received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Benin, Edo State. He received a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University in 2002. Nosakhare married his wife, Carletta Ekunwe on November 27, 2004, and they had two children together; a daughter, Ameze and a son, Aizenosa. Nosakhare was employed at Georgia Pacific. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus Father Peter Quinn Council 1673, and a Past President of Edo Heritage Union of Mississippi. Nosakhare was also a volunteer with End Hunger.

Nosakhare is preceded in death by his parents. Nosakhare is survived by his wife, his two children, five siblings: Nogie Ekunwe, Adesuwa Ezenwa, Akin Anjorin, Karmyn Ekunwe, and Adesuwa Ekunwe; Mama, Lynette Ekunwe, and beloved nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be Friday, July 26, 2019, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 6:00PM-8:00PM with the Rosary at 6:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 10:00am. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery.
