Julia Ann Donald, 65, of Hattiesburg, passed away on August 10, 2018, at Forrest General Hospital. She was born on November 28, 1952. Julia attended Petal High School and was an active member of Trueway Holiness Church for over 50 years. She married Johnny Donald in 1978 and was employed by Marshall Durbin for 31 years until her retirement. Julia loved her family and was dedicated to helping others as evidenced by her certificate of Basic Criminal Justice Ministry and her work with the inmates at the Hattiesburg Jail.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Johnny Lee Donald. She is survived by her daughters, Nawasa Scott (Fred Scott, Jr.) of Fresno, CA and Leann Donald (Patricia Rogers)of Hattiesburg, MS; ten grandchildren: Austrianna McCarthy, Fredrick McCarthy, Ashley McCarthy, Julia McCarthy, Yosha McCarthy, Kissie, McCarthy, Jasmin McCarthy, Alexis Scott, Aleelah Scott and Justin Scott; five great grandchildren: Arthur Thomas, Javen Ramirez, Chloe Thomas, Jay Fanning, Don’yea Grant; two sisters, Linda Johnson of Hattiesburg, MS and Lavon Trotter of Gulfport, MS; two brothers, James McCarthy of Sacramento, CA and Clarence Reed AKA “Poppa Soul” of Hattiesburg, MS.
Visitation will be August 22, 2018, 11 – 1:00pm at New Zion Baptist Church with the service to follow at 1:00pm. Interment will be at South Hill Cemetery.
