Charles Irvin Yawn, 78, of Purvis, passed away on November 25, 2017, at Forrest General Hospital. He was born on April 14, 1939, to Julius and Eunice Yawn in Lamar County.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Emmitt Yawn and Herman Yawn. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia Aycock Yawn; seven children: Julia Blackburn, Charlotte Beasley, Billy Yawn, Jimmy Yawn, Cindy Anderson, Susan Raynes and Tina Thames-Madden; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; 11 siblings: Hasting Yawn, Frances Thornhill, Donnie Lee, Elsie Simmons, Garvis Yawn, Evelyn Curtis, Velma Stuart, Lynda Williams, Elmer Yawn, Freddie Yawn and Jesse Yawn.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Forrest Funeral Home from 12-2pm with the service to follow at 2pm in Forrest Chapel. Interment will be at Chambliss Cemetery.
