Obituary for Andrew Jackson "Andy" Ellis

Andrew “Andy” Jackson Ellis, 52, passed away from this life on Friday, October 24, 2014, at his home in Kiln, MS.

Andy, as he was known by his family, was born on September 19, 1962, to Pearl Marie Bourgieos Ellis of Waveland, MS and Clyde Prentice Ellis, Sr. of Hattiesburg, MS.

Andy spent his early life in Waveland, where he enjoyed the country life with family and friends. He was employed by Henley Timber Company for over 27 years. Not willing to be idle after leaving Henley, Andy drove cross country for a variety of trucking companies.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Clyde Prentice Ellis, Jr.; a granddaughter, Erica Ellis, and a nephew, Zachary Ellis.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 14 years, Anna Vance Ellis; five children: Gloria Lumpkin (Odell), A.J. Ellis (Alicia), Jackie Freeman, Valerie Ellis (Wayne), and Christina Jackson (Rudy); four brothers: Earl Ellis, Leroy Ellis, Mike Ellis, Willie Ellis; four sisters: Edna Mauffray, Pearl Bourgieos, Maryann Lott, Marie Ellis; 18 grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special friend, Sharon Carroll.

Visitation will be from 11am-3pm at Old Spanish Trail Baptist Church, with the service to follow promptly at 3:00, also at the church. Forrest Funeral Home of Hattiesburg is charged with the arrangements.

Memorial donations can be made at Keesler Federal Credit Union in honor of Mr. Ellis.
