Rupert Nell Halfacre Allen, 86, of Hattiesburg, passed away on September 28, 2017, at her home. She was born August 25, 1931, to Dr. and Mrs. R.R. Halfacre in Hattiesburg. Nell graduated from USM in 1950. She and her husband married in 1955, and lived in Houston, TX, for 37 years. They returned to Mississippi in 1992, where she was an active member in the gardening clubs.
Mrs. Allen is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, George M. Allen, Sr.; four children: Betsy Roark (Dale), George Allen, Jr. (Beverly), Greg Allen (Michelle) and David “Grant” Allen; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Forrest Funeral Home at 10:00 with the service to follow at 11:00. Interment will be at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Mize, MS.
