Brenda Gail Hummel , 70, died June 6, 2017, at her home. She was born May 3, 1947 to B.B. and Norma Smith in Camp Lejeune, NC . As a military wife she served her country through her unwavering support of her husband and family. Ms. Hummel was preceded in death by her parents and son, Todd Hummel. She is survived by a son, Scott Hummel (Starr); a daughter, Christine Holmes (Rod); four granddaughters: Lauren, Rachel and Julia Hummel, and Kennedy Holmes; two nephews: Jeff Jr. and Corey Hummel. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. on June 10th, at Forrest Funeral Home in Hattiesburg, MS. The service will follow the visitation at 11:30 a.m. in the Forrest Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to William Carey University or the ASPCA.
