Obituary for Sydney Arrington Stewart

Sydney Arrington Stewart
SPC Sydney Arrington Stewart, age 18, passed away on February 29, 2016, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS, surrounded by her family and close friends. She was born on May 29, 1997, at Forrest General Hospital to Jonathan and Pam Stewart.
Sydney graduated early from Forrest County Agricultural High School, Class of 2015, to pursue a career with the Mississippi Army National Guard. She completed basic training at Fort Jackson, SC, as a member of Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment “Bulldogs”, earning the Expert Marksmanship Badge via her individual weapon. She went on to complete her Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, VA, Mike Company, 244th Quartermaster Battalion “Mustangs”, as an Automated Logistical Specialist. Sydney’s military career continued to Camp Shelby, MS, where she served with the 3656 Maintenance Company. She was also a valued member of and an active participant in her family’s construction company, Stewart Development.
Sydney will forever be remembered by her family and friends as a fun loving, free spirit. She always enjoyed the simple things in life, along with watersports including: boating, wakeboarding, skiing, tubing, jet skiing, hanging out at the Jourdan River with friends; as well as riding ATV’s, hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors in general. She was also a gifted musician and loved to play the guitar, sing, and entertain her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Floyd Bounds and Juanita Bounds, both of Brooklyn, MS.
Sydney leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her parents; a brother, Sawyer Stewart; a sister, Tatum Stewart; paternal grandparents, W.M. and Carmen Stewart; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation for Sydney will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Forrest Funeral Home. Her service will follow immediately at 7:00pm. Members of the Mississippi National Guard will serve as honorary pallbearers.
